Soul Musings/Day 13: The Magic of Light

483769904_a66e7a83bf

How is it that this time of year is so magical when the natural light diminishes and darkness caresses us more hours of each day.

Lights adorns everything as if we are attempting to illuminate something inside of us.

Nature continuing to provide us with astounding displays of light wherever we turn.

Just today the light through the clouds stunned me as I was driving and almost stopped in the middle of the road to share the wonder that I felt.

the wave translucent as it turns to shore…..Favim.com-32412

sparkles on the rocks below the rivers moving surface…..

flashes through a forest just as we are about to turn back.

Nearly blinds us with it’s beauty as the sun sets below the horizon.

Providing a welcome embrace as we come into this life…..

and as we leave, reminding us that we are always being held….. in the Light.

Soul Musings/Day 12: Dance With Life

You-Are-Here

Thus, rather than seek dominance or control over nature, let us dance with the earth and existing systems. It’s important we begin to appreciate that life is not an accident, not a byproduct, not a random happenstance; life is the purpose of this universe, created and sustained within infinitely complex interdependent systems. Working within this framework may well prove the key that allows us to realize our full potential and perhaps know what it is for every life form on earth to have an opportunity to thrive.”

(Quote by Collective Evolution)

Ponder this – “life” may be the purpose, the calling if you will, of the Universe.

We are part of an immense network of living systems within our bodies and without – on Earth, and in a multitude of galaxies and Universes.

This may be the blueprint for everything that exists.

If so then the possibilities are everywhere to shift our personal course as well as that of our planet and beyond.

Everything comes into existence, dies away and then transforms into new life at the urging of this dynamic creative energy.

What is being asked of us is to trust this unfolding, surrender to uncertainty, and take action from a place of purpose or calling – Being.

This multi-request message seems complex, but actually it is what we are here for.

Learning to listen with love and attention while practicing new dance steps courtesy of the Earth and existing living systems…… with Source as the choreographer!

Soul Musings/Day 11: Make A Masterpiece Out of Life

By Kornél Ravadits, Hungary

By Kornél Ravadits,
Hungary

What I love about this still life is that it is not “still” at all. Every facet of it shows life in motion as a masterpiece of living.

Lived by someone who doesn’t mind the shells from a nut gracing the tablecloth like pieces of an idea that are resting.

Who relishes peeling an orange in a way that creates desire unto itself, always in the unfolding.

Savoring fine wine knowing that there is more to come. Breaking off a small piece of bread to soak up residual juices that linger on the palate.

Placing objects and food not in a haphazard way – but marrying them to each other in consensual collaboration.

Simply vast, interconnected, resonant and grand…….. as your life.

Soul Musings/Day 10: Transparency

transparent-canoe-kayak

A miracle of clear awareness happened today

Transparency was intuitively partnered with love

This union bringing a deeper connection

With another on the path

Until we both could see clearly through to the depths

Of what holds us back from Being

And intimately links us

To the Source of All….

Soul Musings/Day 7: Widening Our Circle of Compassion

Embrace the whole of nature in it’s beauty. Photo: Dewitt Jones

Widen our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”  Albert Einstein

Humans daily separate themselves from the rest of creation.

Causing endless suffering in our monumental forgetfulness.

What if the beauty and mystery of nature ceased to exist?

And we found ourselves in a black and white world.

Our senses shrinking to nothing.

Left staring endlessly into a void.

Reminders of the coupling that brought us such beauty.

Illuminate the vibrant intimate structure of all life…..

……that without embracing we are nothing.

The Wealth of Mystery

Esoteric-Agenda-Kymatica-Documentaries-GLOBAL-AWAKENING

Those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the earth are never alone or weary of life”.  Rachel Carson

What would our lives be without mystery?  I would not want to imagine that sort of world.  A world where everything is explained away as having  one particular meaning or understanding.  A world where the sacred spark that  starts the heart for the first time is explained away as a biological function and the mystery of a caterpillar being turned into the liquid form of imaginal cells that assist the creation and emergence of a stunning  butterfly with the opening of the chrysalis is monarch-emerging-from-chrysalis2downplayed as just nature doing its thing.

Even our very breath that keeps us alive.  Where and how does your breath emerge?  Have you ever thought of it in terms of a mystery instead of attempting to pin it down in scientific terms?  What happens with that first breath, the 7,000 each day, the 500 million in a normal lifespan, and the last exhale that flies from our bodies to soar elsewhere.

Breathing supports every experience you have.  You exchange 10 billion trillion atoms with your surroundings with every breath you take.  The atoms that you inhale every day have traversed the bodies of living beings across the universe and across time – a testament to the law of giving and receiving.   What mystery connects us all in such an intimate dance in something as simple as breathing in air and All things share the same breath the beast the tree the man the air shares its spirit with all the life it supportsout air – each breath having emerged out of or taken in by another living form.  Always interconnected….

Even the cosmos beyond, around and within us bubbles with mystery of the unknown.  Man’s efforts to pierce the veil of something so immense that one cannot even grasp a very tiny bit of it’s character or vastness is at best futile.

Perhaps the daily mysteries that face us as we walk through the moments of our lives are meant to provide the spark for opening our arms, our minds and our hearts to moving forward into the places that hold no explanation….but instead hold a place for awe, wonder. and creativity.

It is within this dance of creation that we feel the life pulse that creates the greatest natural art piece that we will ever behold.  Know that the beauties and mysteries of the Earth and all that surrounds it will always hold the meaning for our lives.  It is this which we indulge in.  It is this that keeps us awake and present to the endless mystery and wealth that is life here and now.

Indulge and be shaken apart never to be “put back” the same way ever again.  Soak in the mystery and behold that you too are a part of this natural dance of the Divine.

When we surrender to (Grace) we surrender to something bigger than ourselves – to a universe that knows what it is doing. . . . We learn to trust that the power that holds galaxies together can handle the circumstances of our relatively little lives.” ~ Marianne Williamson

Where There Is Love, There Is Life

480268_602288759787449_466801905_n

Years ago now I was a participant in a week long retreat facilitated by friends where breath, sound therapy and body work were combined to take each individual, and the group as a whole, into very deep states of stillness in the mind and the body.  What transpired there was not merely an experience, but a way of perceiving, and an awareness, that to this day I will never forget.

What I felt near the end of the week was the most astounding awareness.  One that was embodied, not simply known in the mind as a concept. It is difficult to describe in words a knowing that all of us carry inside but constantly forget.   Yet what I will say is that there was no doubt at all that we are simply and absolutely love.  That is the energy that creates us as we are and continues to be the source of our life.

I have been lucky enough to still hold this awareness and way of perceiving within me even though my mind attempts to pull me out constantly.  It is a life long practice to keep going back to the power and awareness of the creative energy and being of love that drives everything around and within us.  We keep forgetting…

Dr. Brian Green, a famous string theory physicist was here in my town of Austin, Texas a couple of weeks ago.  As he talked everyone’s mind was stretched beyond the confines of the everyday reality that we live in on a day to day basis. it struck me that even the incredible creation of and within multiple universes is merely a larger reflection of what is happening – let’s say between two humans.

Through merging, breaking apart, collisions, deterioration and even death there is always a creative force that is underlying all 164427_602274153122243_1970267722_nlife.  The creation fueled by the energy of love.  A force so strong that when accessed can shift individuals, communities, nations, planets,  and even universes.

Ghandi’s statement above has been voiced by many of the leaders and indigenous peoples of our times.   We actually all know this as an absolute truth.  Isn’t it time to bring back the collaboration, cooperation and acknowledgement that all life is created from the creative energy of love….and that without it everything falls apart.  Let’s start now….

Natural Wealth Course by Richard Cawte, Ph.D.:naturalwealth3dsmall-222x300

http://resonancewithlife.com/natural-wealth-course/

The Journey

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice —
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
“Mend my life!”
each voice cried.
But you didn’t stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do —
determined to save
the only life you could save.
~ Mary Oliver ~

The intimate connection between ourselves, others and each life form that inhabits this planet, and beyond, has gained more and more recognition.  Our collective memories, both individual and from the past, oftentimes keep us stuck in the shame that Richard spoke of in the last post.  These embodied emotional and physical traumas leak body memories to our consciousness that have us forgetting the very nature of who we are.

In yoga class this morning we were asked to listen to the poem above by Mary Oliver and move from a place of remembering – remembering who we are – without the voices from the past or the ones of the present directing the particular life moment.  Often our eyes were closed as we stepped into the flow of what was unwinding from our core – instead of someone else’s direction.

What is it like to follow that inner knowing, dropping silently inside capturing the whisperings of that inner insistence on the uniqueness of truth, movement, actions, and feelings in any one moment.  What are we afraid of?  Or is it that we can hardly hear the  voice of our own unique being for all the demands and stimulus around us.

Yes, the only life we can save – living as uniquely as possible – is our own.  There are more and more moments these days when I feel the solid strength of what this is like.   One of those places is hanging out on an ecstatic dance floor where the “rule” is to have no self imposed restrictions, but instead to explore, listen and move from that place of complete connection to the greater energy that moves us all.

Old patterns of being and moving melt away as the intention for everyone on the dance floor becomes a moving art piece of breath, movement, contact, exploration, play and absolute love and respect.  For someone that loves dance it is a “home coming” to the deepest parts of who we are.

The film Jane’s Journey, shows us someone who listened to her own unique voice in spite of what others might have wanted for her.  For someone like Jane Goodall it was a simple very deeply felt passion that moved her as a young woman to follow her childhood dreams.  Now at 78 she is still traveling the world speaking her truth and impacting millions of people to care for each other and our planet in the most compassionate, loving and peaceful of ways.

What price is taken when we step away from the journey that is uniquely our own?  We become lost in the thoughts and actions of others and forget that we have come here to create and love as only we can do and be.  Today a young man who had never received flowers from a woman was gifted with a single flower of beauty as he sat at his check out stand at the local organic food store.  This happened because I heard loud and clear the voice that directed me to take this loving action as I left the store the first time I was there. What impact did this have?  Let’s just say I am still smiling….and I am certain so is he.

Choose a journey that reflects the magnificence of who you are and do not listen to anyone or anything that takes you away from that knowing!

Listen….

Stand Tall And Root Your Toes Into The Wealth of Life

Dear Richard,

When I found this picture it literally demanded to be placed directly in the center of this particular post.  A giant redwood in the California Bear Creek watershed stands tall amidst the other trees in this old growth forest.  There are many things that caught my attention here.  My experience with old growth forests is that they are quite different from forests that have been cut down before.  There is a unique smell and feel to the earth and other life forms that inhabit this sacred and beautiful natural resource.   The quiet is so pervasive that when there is a sound it immediately draws your attention.  It almost feels as if you could put your ear to the bark of the tree and it would whisper untold wisdom into your ear.

When walking in one of these forests,  awareness expands and broadens as attention is caught by the fact that these trees have been living for much longer than we have years to count.  They have survived natural disasters and encouraged the trees around them to grow and thrive just by their very presence in the forest community.  This one tree has obviously been present much longer than the others marked by its sheer size.  One might feel by looking at this picture that this one tree is guardian standing as protector with a much more expansive view.  However, each tree is deeply interconnected to the others and has its’ unique role to play.

In yoga class this morning our practice was guided by 3 teachings of Milarepa who is generally considered one of Tibet’s  most famous yogis and poets..  One of those teachings was “Act so that you have no cause to be ashamed of yourself, and hold fast to this rule.”  When I saw this tree standing so much taller than the others I immediately thought of each of us in our lives and whether we consciously make the choice to “stand tall”.  By “standing tall” we declare that we are not ashamed of who we are, but instead choose to show the world our fullness and actively bring our unique gifts for all to see.   There is no way that this particular tree can hide!

As were the dancers at the event I was privileged to see last evening.  Viewing a magnificent expression of the dance arts I witnessed a performance that literally had me mesmerized (and wishing I was back in my youth again!).   Each dancer found the energetic flow and rhythm that was uniquely their own expression within the choreography, and then combined it with that of other dancers sharing the stage with them.  Even amidst the demonstration of angst and conflict during a few pieces there was a sense of something much larger expanding….a greater story, a more expansive view……… than the small one unfolding before your eyes.  At times one or two dancers would take center stage, yet there was always movement happening around them expanding the focus and the story.

What wealth we accumulate in our individual lives when we choose to “stand tall” no matter what is happening.  Our actions in every situation and every relationship can uphold living a life of fullness.  Each and every one of us is a magnificent expression just as these trees and dancers are.  The trees so much lower than the single one are “standing tall” as well in their own unique ways.  The Divine Design of our life awaits us to wake up and root our toes into the wealth and creative passion of our lives….. leaving any thread of shame behind.   Life is simply too short to waste on anything less……

Crack In The Wall

  Dear Richard,

This flower coming out of the brick wall that graces the entrance to my house here in Austin, Texas struck me for many reasons.  I hadn’t noticed it at all for the entire time that it was emerging.  Then all of a sudden it seemed to just be there!  What a smile it brought to my face when I spied it the other day!

What is astounding to me is that this lonely flower is growing out of a crack in the brick wall and actually seems to be quite happy with it’s unique growing spot.   A friend of mine wondered how the heck it was getting enough nourishment to even grow.

To me it is a combination of desire, right environment, and a passion if you will to emerge from the dark and grow towards the light.  There is also an innate and complex coding that has flowers….. and people….follow the path that has been laid down for them even amidst what seems like difficult circumstances. This is what we like to call the Divine Design.

Somehow the seed of this flower had just what it needed in the depths of the brick wall to bring it forth out into the open and expose its particular expression.  Was there doubt, hesitation or fear on this flowers part to emerge?  We cannot know the many possibilities that presented as this seed was implanted in the wall by wind, bird or other means. Perhaps there were many possible outcomes as the seed sought what it needed in order to grown and thrive.

This display of natures innate call to create touched me deeply as I beheld this single flower finding its way towards unique expression.  It reminded me that even in the challenging moments of our lives that there are many possibilities to grow and thrive….even in the depths of a crack we have fallen into.

Thank you natural world for being such an exquisite teacher reminding me of the stuff from which I am made.  There is always an opportunity to come into the light….  Is there a “crack” in your life that needs to be explored just a little more??
