“For only by living in our own element can we thrive without anxiety”.  Mark Nepo

A very large part of living in human form is to wake up to our inherent true nature and accept the gifts and awareness that we have been given.  We each walk a unique path, however the deep interconnection with all life allows us to view what it may be like to walk in another person’s shoes – or bare feet as the case may be.

A large part of the pandemic “anxiety” that engulfs the world at this time in our history comes from not only disrespecting others particular path, but at our very core not accepting our own.  How is it to live a life that others are dictating, instead of listening deeply to one’s own calling.  Courageously saying yes to the steps that it takes to express this one precious life – the joy of being human.

Let me tell you a story to demonstrate just a little of what I am talking about.  For the last year and few months I entered back into the world of medicine after making a clear decision in 2011 that I was complete with that particular pathway in which to bring my gifts.  Much was learned during this year as I became a  part of the launching of a new family practice.  However, the reasons that I stepped back into this field were mostly based in fear.

Fear that I would not be able to support myself financially if left to walk my own unique road.  A road that was riskier and filled with uncertainty, but also filled with immense possibility.  A road that I now know contains the peaceful abiding that Buddhist philosophy and practice speak to.  A road that offers the immense joy of giving to others in a way that makes their life better through the arts of writing, teaching/guiding/facilitation, heart centered activism, breath practice, and the laying of my hands on people in healing and transforming ways.

Within the “stress” of being back in the medical world lay the gift of awareness that I had forsaken my own road.  This was a vital part of coming back home to a path that only I can walk, only I can express, and only I can learn from.  Taking on someone else’s path is perhaps as dangerous as judging and not accepting others for their own.

Our potential is to become totally happy.  How do we find our way there?  Poet and philosopher Mark Nepo says:

This is not about being a poet or a florist or a doctor or a layer or an architect.  It is about the true vitality that waits beneath all occupations for us to tap into, if we can discover what we love.  If you feel energy and excitement and a sense that life is happening for the first time, you are probably near your God-given nature.  Joy in what we do is not an added feature; it is a sign of deep health”.  (The Book of Awakening, pg. 294)

Staying awake is the path to walking in our own element….

Years ago now I was a participant in a week long retreat facilitated by friends where breath, sound therapy and body work were combined to take each individual, and the group as a whole, into very deep states of stillness in the mind and the body.  What transpired there was not merely an experience, but a way of perceiving, and an awareness, that to this day I will never forget.

What I felt near the end of the week was the most astounding awareness.  One that was embodied, not simply known in the mind as a concept. It is difficult to describe in words a knowing that all of us carry inside but constantly forget.   Yet what I will say is that there was no doubt at all that we are simply and absolutely love.  That is the energy that creates us as we are and continues to be the source of our life.

I have been lucky enough to still hold this awareness and way of perceiving within me even though my mind attempts to pull me out constantly.  It is a life long practice to keep going back to the power and awareness of the creative energy and being of love that drives everything around and within us.  We keep forgetting…

Dr. Brian Green, a famous string theory physicist was here in my town of Austin, Texas a couple of weeks ago.  As he talked everyone’s mind was stretched beyond the confines of the everyday reality that we live in on a day to day basis. it struck me that even the incredible creation of and within multiple universes is merely a larger reflection of what is happening – let’s say between two humans.

Through merging, breaking apart, collisions, deterioration and even death there is always a creative force that is underlying all 164427_602274153122243_1970267722_nlife.  The creation fueled by the energy of love.  A force so strong that when accessed can shift individuals, communities, nations, planets,  and even universes.

Ghandi’s statement above has been voiced by many of the leaders and indigenous peoples of our times.   We actually all know this as an absolute truth.  Isn’t it time to bring back the collaboration, cooperation and acknowledgement that all life is created from the creative energy of love….and that without it everything falls apart.  Let’s start now….

Natural Wealth Course by Richard Cawte, Ph.D.:naturalwealth3dsmall-222x300

http://resonancewithlife.com/natural-wealth-course/

Today Richard and I received an e-mail from one of our community members which very eloquently requested guidance on being present to the vast changes and shifts happening all around and within us.  Our reader writes:

“The reality is, as you are undoubtedly aware, very turbulent and the earth and we are going through a lot of changes. So a grounded consciousness is required to navigate through it. There is a transfer of wealth taking place before our eyes so we may as well be on the receiving end of that too. So what I would like to have is more guidance from your experience. … The integration of spirit and the nuts and bolts are essential to expand the creative mind.”

There is widespread global agreement that we can no longer rely on systems and beliefs that have contributed to the devastation of planet, economics, social justice, and overall well being.  As this community member states “the integration of spirit and the nuts and bolts” is essential to re-balancing what has gone completely out of balance.  This also is about what Richard and I feel are the feminine and masculine energies coming back into alignment with each other on all levels.

I will leave the financial and economic wealth advising to Richard, but here is my contribution to the whole from a feminine perspective.  A day ago I read a story that struck me powerfully as a wake up call to pay attention to life moments and all that happens around us.  This story revolved around relationship, death and choices.  Very simplified this is what is always in front of us.

On a deeply spiritual level this is where our wealth and power to ride the waves of change rests…in the moments and the opportunities to integrate the heart with creative mind, engaging in the building of whole systems and relationships that contribute to the well being of all life. Accepting that death is a part of the living experience so that new life can evolve and awareness can be born.

Is it the smallest of events in our lives and the moment to moment choices we make that have contributed to the larger shifts that are upon us?  The beauty and the darkness dance together asking us to choose in every single moment.  In that very choosing and active engaging we ground ourselves over and over again.

Leon VanderPol writes: “It is all there in black and white, the dance of the light and the dark. While the puppet masters scheme for a world in which power is centralized in the hands of a few, a force of great magnitude shines brightly as it calls out to each and everyone of us to make a choice—to become truly engaged.”

What if the navigation system for this time that we are in is one in which we are absolutely present to the daily events and choices of our individual lives.  From that place we assist each other within relationship to work towards the good of the whole organism which we call Earth…one minute dot in the entire vastness of expanded life outside of our planet.  The wealth we seek is NOW in the choices that we make.

It is important to understand and have a feel for the shifts and transitions that we are in the midst of.  Yet,  if we take our attention off of the opportunities, choices, and decisions that present from moment to moment and become consumed and overwhelmed by the challenges that face each of us and our very existence….. we are lost.

So much is going on in any one moment.  What will we choose to engage with?

“I come to a tree so rich with autumn’s golds and reds it makes for a mild ache.  I lie down under it, close my eyes and let my mind wander.  I think of all that is happening elsewhere, as I lie here.  Nearby I can hear the sounds of a road crew.  Somewhere else monkeys chatter in trees.  A male seahorse becomes pregnant.  A diamond forms, a bee dances out directions, a windshield shatters.  Somewhere a mother spreads p-nut butter for her son’s lunch, a lover sighs, a knitter binds off the edge of a sleeve.  Clouds gather to make rain, corn ripens on the stalk, a cancer cell divides, a little league team scores.  Somewhere blossoms open, a man pushes a knife in deeper, a painter darkens her blue.  A cashier pours new dimes into an outstretched hand, rainbows form and fade, plates in the earth shift and settle.  A woman opens a velvet box, male spiders pluck gently on the females’ webs, falcons fall from the sky.  Abstracts are real and time is a lie, it cannot be measured when one moment can expand to hold everything.  You can want to live and end up choosing death; and you can want to die and end up living.  What keeps us here, really?  A thread that breaks in a breeze.  And yet a thread that cannot be broken. “

Leaves always find a way to the light...

The flower in your wall is a great lesson to us all.

My guess is that it didn’t struggle or doubt as its cells divided and it raised itself up from the crack in the well. Instead it followed the innate programming of its Divine Design and simply grew.

We all have many ideas that germinate within our minds, thoughts that are motivated by a desire to find light. Yet all too often we stunt those ideas before they have a chance to bear fruit.

In their early stages our thoughts are just like that little flower, strong and healthy – but prone to damage by frost. The frost in this case is our fear-based thoughts. Grounded on the foundation of constricting belief-systems, fears can creep in and nip our desires in the bud if we are not attentive.

In the Natural Wealth Course we show you how to dissolve the fears that come from belief-systems. We may not get rid of them altogether, but we can learn to quieten them, to tune out from their interference-patterns and tune in to the frequencies that truly nourish us.

As your beautiful flower proves, seeds can germinate and flourish no matter how barren or challenging the terrain may appear to be. What helps them do this is that they never doubt the power of the Divine Design. They never resist the great force that resides within them.

The biggest lesson I take from your little flower is that instead of trying to impose our ego-based ideas on life, we’re always better off when we hand over to the Divine Design and say “Your way, not my way!”

In essence, when we stop struggling against perceived obstacles and start trusting in the workings of the natural world, we begin to relax and that opens the way for us to grow towards the light.

One phrase that I’ve found helpful at times of doubt is this: “There is a way where there is no way!”

I think your little flower might agree…

With best wishes for a very Happy Easter!

Richard.

As 2012 begins I am struck by the generosity of the natural world and the reflection that it mirrors back at us of our own true and essential nature.  The water flower above radiates an energy that is so perceptible it feels that even if you could not see the flower you could feel it!  The water droplets only add to the magnificence and the depth.  I believe that we are meant to be that generous with our being….. How did the rose

Ever open its heart

All its Beauty?

It felt the encouragement of light

Against its Being

Otherwise

We Invite You Into Our Websitewww.ResonanceWithLife.com

Dear Gaye,

A little while ago we talked about the dragonfly larva that crawls up a stem from
a life submerged underwater into a life in the air. We mentioned how it will sit waiting for the sun towarm its body before it hatches out. Then it will sit some more as its wings dry.  Then it takes to the air and flies.

I know that just recently you have been seeing lots of dragonflies and, given how we both feel (which is that nature sends us messages each moment of each day) I thought it would be fun to look at how all these dragonfly messages tie in with our recent posts on non-resistance, trust and “going with the flow”.

You put it just perfectly last time: resistance is futile – and a doorway to freedom. I guess the dragonfly is a perfect example of this. It goes through a huge shift, yet it never resists the outcome of its actions. Instead it follows the call of its instincts, pulled inexorably upwards from the liquid environment it has known as its home and taking wing because it knows that is the only way to go.

Let’s open this out a little. Movement is at the heart of everything. Nothing stays
static, not even for one moment. Not one cell of your body, not the room you
are sitting in now, nor the yard outside, nor the woods, the hills or the
fields…not one single thing in the whole universe is totally still right now. Even
the spaces between are forever moving to the dance of the Game of Life.

Within you and me and everything else there lies a subtle sound, a frequency
that creates all this movement. It draws us all together, uniting us in its
resonance no matter where we were born or what our upbringing taught us.

I believe that as we transition into following the ways of the Divine Design, this
frequency becomes more apparent, because we start to fully trust our intuitions.
The reason is real simple. Intuition means to be “taught from within”. But within
what? Within the body, yes, but where does the body end and space begin?
Where is the separation between what’s inside and what’s “outside” it?

The answer is that there is none! Separation is just an idea. It doesn’t really exist.
We don’t end where our bodies end. We just keep on going! The difference is that we can’t see the bits of us that are outside our bodies: but we know that they
are they. They’re out there, forever fingering the world around us, millions of waves of electro-magnetic energy, learning, processing and giving us instant
feedback to what’s happening not just nearby, but as far away as you can imagine too…

We’re hardwired into this world of feedback, no matter how much we might try to deny it!

So, when we follow our intuitions we are being taught both from within and without. We’re listening to the part of us that reaches in and in and in – and  we’re listening to the part of us that goes out and out and out.  The secret is to know that both parts of us touch every atom of matter, each moment of time.  We’re truly interconnected.

I believe you are right, Gaye. This is a time when plenty of us are waking up from
the collective slumber that we have been in. It’s a time when our perceptions
speed up as we evolve and adapt to new ways of doing things.

We’re each of us like the dragonfly, moving out from the parameters of an old
way of doing things. And our ability to change the course of the future from one
in which we destroy the fragile balance of the planet around us to one in which
we can survive and thrive may well depend on how well we learn to listen to the
messages all around us, the messages of the Spirit Within and the Spirit
Without.

It could just be that it’s birth-time for the human race. If so, it’s a birth that will take us to places we cannot as yet be sure of. But it has to be worth emerging
from the pond. It has to be worth letting our wings dry, as they surely will,
before we take off on the next stage of our adventure, not knowing where we
will land, but enjoying our new-found agility, taking deep breaths of a new
kind of air, our multi-coloured bodies shining in the sunlight…

Will we learn to heed the call of the Spirit Within and the Spirit Without? Will we return to the ways of our ancestors, who knew all too well that there is no such thing as separation between one life and another and that the natural world around us truly does tell us all we need to know? I think so, yes.

We just have to be humble enough to re-learn the proud art of asking for its guidance – and then taking actions that are 100% in line with what’s best for us all.

With my love and best wishes,

Richard.

Dear Richard -

Certainly “resistance is futile”, and a doorway to freedom at the same time.  Freedom of accepting ourselves just as we are when we finally let go of that end of the rope we have been tugging on so strongly.  Yes, at times we do win the tug-of-war (notice what that implies) , but I question at what cost??

Do we push and pull our way through our lives, or do we live them with self compassion and open our hearts to being the presence and power of love that we are?  This latter does indeed involve releasing attachment, and sometimes you might be surprised at exactly what you are attached to!

I found this to be true only a few days ago.  A very dear friend of mine wanted to practice a process with prospective coaching clients that she calls Discovery.  In that elegant process I was led by direct questions to view my life from a place of attachment to what I “wanted to see happen”, and move into a place of non-attachment to  “all that is possible”.

Let’s just say there was a very large crevasse between the two of them. On one side of the great divide was my small attached ego,  and on the other side was that larger self that has been oh so patiently awaiting the nod of my head to come out and really play.  A self that lives in a much larger container – no container at all actually.  Are you getting a visual image of the two sides here?  Well, I am and it is quite entertaining!

At one point in this discovery session my friend asked me to imagine what qualities this fuller self (the real me) felt, looked and sounded like.  As she presented this question I felt my breath expand, my spine lengthen, a smile broke out, arms went up in the air with palms upwards, and my body started moving in delightful ways.  I saw colors and sparks of light and felt energy moving throughout my body.  A sound of celebration escaped without any resistance to holding it back.  In fact, I was radiating such a wide and bright light that I almost had to put sun glasses on!

Within this process of embodying and recapturing the essence of who I am a question was asked by my friend.  What is stopping you from Being this in your present life?  The first thing that arose came with a huge impact.  My mind, viewing all of this larger self “nonsense” said, “Once you have created the streams of money that you want and need to support activating all that you feel is your purpose in life, then you have the freedom to be fully yourself”.

Well, you can imagine what that essential nature self felt on the other side of the divide.  She is not so highly evolved that an expletive doesn’t escape from her mouth from time to time…and one did in this moment. (Silently though so my friend did not hear it )  As this fully embodied bright self let go of her end of the rope from the small ego’s grasp she said, “all streams, whether money or other forms, will never flow easily into your life as long as you are holding back on your true nature”.

This is the surprise I was referring to earlier.  I had no idea that I was attached to the belief that I needed to “do something” in order to have the flow of wealth in all areas of my life.  Action is important, but in that moment I knew without any doubt that it is not only about taking action from the heart, but just as importantly from the fullest expression of yourself in any one moment.    So, in other words no holding back – AT ALL!!

As my friend asked me for feedback on the session I was still smiling and incredibly grateful for the awareness of this stuck belief (resistance) that was holding me back.  It made me remember a quote by Marianne Williamson:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

A recognition that the small ego within us resides in a contracted and fear based place was not new to me.  What was new is that I had this belief entrenched within me in the first place.  So dear friend Richard, I am now letting go of the end of the rope and am completely willing to dive into the waters (and fire!) of simply being fully who I am in as many moments as possible.  You may see a very bright light across the Atlantic ocean…and if you do, know that it is me.

With Love From A
Gaye

Dear Richard -

Sitting here with my cuppa Earl Grey tea I find myself reflecting on a very powerful dream that I had several years ago.  I call it powerful because it is still very clear to this day, and in fact is quite relevant right now as I find myself feeling that I am “up against a wall” and there is no room to see what is beyond it.

First my dream.  This dream came at a time when I was struggling to “find my way” to what in life would bring me joy and fulfillment.  I was traveling on a path to a place of “higher learning” and was one of many in a line walking along a dirt path through forest.

All of a sudden the path ended and a clearing was before us, but also a ledge with a steep cliff side below.  All of my attention was drawn to this quite treacherous abyss and as I looked over it I saw others attempting to climb or rappel down the cliff using all kinds of gear.  There was also a very narrow rock path that serpentined it’s way down, but as I watched these people they seemed to be struggling as well.

Now my decision had to be made as to how I was going to get down there in order to get to my destination.  I stood there and closed my eyes and asked for guidance.  As I did that a very low whisper coming from the vicinity of my heart said, “Look to your left”.

My eyes opened and I looked to my left (my feminine side).  There was a path that had appeared – or it was there all along, but I hadn’t been expanding  my vision into possibility.  As I traced the path with my eyes to my surprise I saw the “place of higher learning” was not far on this easy downward slopping road.  No struggle was necessary.  Simply a stroll to my “destination” – to awareness.

This dream sticks with me because it continues to provide the very clear guidance that I need when I seem to be stuck – up against a wall that feels immovable!

Whether cliff or wall they both represent to me the illusion that something is preventing me from moving forward.  That “something” certainly requires a lot of struggle, effort, and risk taking as well.  Something I need to conquer or dismantle in order to get past it or to the other side.

This “wall” for me right now is the seeming lack of not having streams of income flowing in to support me while I am busy in the creations stages.   I have to admit that my mind took me on one of those very scary roller coaster rides over the last couple of days, and the emotions that go with that were certainly felt as I looked at my bank balance!  I even caught myself thinking about applying for jobs!  But the difference this time around was that I could witness what my mind was doing and begin to detach from the feeling of “no room to move”.

When I found myself working with the texture, thickness, and architecture of this wall that I seemed to be pushing against it hit me that I needed to stop pushing….because there was no wall at all.  No wall blocking me from the unlimited resources and creative ideas that are there for me as close as my next breath.  It was only a construct of fear and scarcity.  It was only an illusion.  It was only that I had fallen out of trust.

Now I have decided that if my mind tries this little trick again I will simply put my hands up in the air on that roller coaster ride and laugh all the way down.  Do you think that will deconstruct the illusions??

With Love,
Gaye

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.~Albert Einstein

Dear Richard -

Something very powerful has settled within me.  It is actually astounding…and feels as if I have “come home” in the most profound way.  This is a home within that I know, dwelled in sporadically over the years,  yet couldn’t seem to stay in.

For you the reader, let me just say that this “home sanctuary” inside brings me heightened pleasure in all that I do and a sense of deep belonging – not necessarily to the world that we can all see, but instead to something much larger that cannot be explained in words.  It is that interconnection that you Richard speak of.

How did this happen?  I understand in a more embodied way now that this chaotic wholeness that you speak of Richard resonates within me and all living things in the cosmos.  I understand that there is an order present within the seeming disorder….inside and outside of me.  Yet, I did not trust this order.  Instead, for most of my life, I felt that I must control things in life to stay “safe” and “secure” – a belief/thought systems approach to guaranteeing that I would never feel fully free.

I too know deep within my cells that everything is interconnected.  This interconnection and attraction is happening in every moment.  Now I feel it!  It is not just mind talk….it is heart whispering!  What happened to nudge me where I am now staying within myself??

Since I can make up any story I want (and mind you I am aware it is only a story)  here goes.  I have literally handed over my life to inner guidance, outward signs and messages, and following wherever my heart takes me. Along with that goes complete and absolute TRUST.  Not just some of the time, but all of the time.

Oh, yes I catch my mind cooking up schemes to take me into fear, lack, or anxiety, but thankfully I must have passed some sort of God/Spirit/Creator test because it amazingly doesn’t stick.  My mind is turning back flips trying to get my attention…but baby I am not buying the old beliefs being paraded out in new clothes and razzle dazzle in an attempt to disguise the true agenda here – to keep me stuck, in doubt, anxiety ridden, fear based, and in a carefully constructed box for safe keeping.

Could it be as simple as that I ask?  Well if you were living my life right now you would have to take notice.  The amount of synchronicity that happens on a daily basis – that I now notice mind you – is amazing!  For just one small example I will tell you a little story:

10 days ago now I decided to take a little early evening walk in the condo complex that I am living in, temporarily housed by a very generous and gracious friend by the name of Judy.  On that walk the first thing that I realized was that it was not only peaceful and quiet where I was staying, but the entire complex was like that (right in the middle of Central Austin!).

Not only that, but the mature trees everywhere, the landscaping, creeks and green space that surround the entire complex, friendly diverse residents,  and the natural beauty left me walking back home with a smile on my face and happiness within.  I felt blessed to simply live here for a while until I found a place of my own.

Then it happened.  That small whisper of guidance telling me to imagine that I did have a place of my own here….a home sanctuary where I could do my creative work and feel at peace within a community…and very close to everything that I frequent.  In fact not more than 10 minutes from organic food, yoga studio, spring fed lap pool, live music, culture, walking paths around the lake…well, you get the picture.

It should be noted that before I moved here I had been looking at lease listings near the downtown area and had set my sights on being right in the middle of everything.  Once here, I realized that perhaps that “must” should dissolve into “let’s see what unfolds itself”.  It was from that place of handing over that I took that walk.

The heart direction was obviously telling me to imagine myself living in the complex, but I took it one step further from leasing.  I expanded that vision to buying something in the complex (even though my current financial status would not indicate that was possible at all!)  It felt like the Divine Design that Richard speaks of was taking me down a path of discovery here.

When I returned back to the condo that I am currently staying at I spoke to Judy about how I felt about the complex on my walk and that I would like to consider leasing, or even buying a unit here.  She was thrilled and, of course, had a Home Owners Association newsletter right next to her and showed me the addresses of the units for rent and those to buy.  She suggested that perhaps I should contact my real estate agent and have her show me some properties that were for sale, and also call the owner of the one for lease.

I dutifully kept following through by my hearts GPS and e-mailed my real estate contact.  The owner for the unit for rent did not answer his phone, and there was surprisingly no message machine.  Going to bed imaging that I was living here in my own home sanctuary, I woke up in the morning to find a note on the refrigerator from Judy.  It said, “please include me in looking at the Hemingway property (one of the few single story units here) because I may buy it”!  Needless to say I laughed out loud.  Perhaps it wasn’t right timing for me to buy…but someone else was going to buy it and lease it to me!

Without getting any lengthier in this story I will just say that I have held the possibility of  living in this complex within me.  We did go see the Hemingway property, and a couple of others.  Within 3 days of my declaring that I was happily living here, Judy put an offer down on the single story 3- bedroom/2 bath  unit opening onto a green space with beautiful trees, and the sellers accepted it which was $11,000 less that what they had been asking for.

Judy gets here investment property, I receive a home sanctuary, and I am still smiling at the miracle that unfolded right before my eyes!  Listen to the heart directed inner guidance, take action from that guidance….and then hand it over.  It may not go exactly as you envisioned it to, but it will always be the right thing to happen for your highest good.

My mantra for each dayGuide me.  Protect me.  I will follow through from your guidance leading with my heart.  Thank you for your guidance that you give to me.  I am always open to receive more and more.  I surrender with courage, trust, faith, passion, and  arms open wide.

Would you like to live your life as if everything is a miracle?  Thanks Richard!

P.S.  Judy just told me she was able to lock in an interest rate at the low end which just changed today due to the economic climate here in the U.S.  I had written down that she would get an interest rate at 5% or less.  It was less: 4.75%!

Dear Gaye,

Just following up on my last post with a quickie on synchronicity.

We’ve all had those moments of synchronicity in our lives; times when we think of someone and the phone rings and it’s the person we were just thinking of whose on the line; times when we get delayed by something only to find when we arrive at our destination that we “bump into” someone who we would have missed if we’d left earlier. These “little things” occur for all of us on a surprisingly regular basis. Invariably they lead to good things happening. So today I have a couple of questions: what is going on here and how can we encourage more of it?

The answer to the first question is an exciting one, because it just might point us at how the world works. My belief, as you know, is that nothing happens in isolation. Everything is interconnected. It’s an age-old belief that you’ll find in just about every mystical teaching in the world. And it’s now being backed up by modern day science.

Quantum physics tells us that any two photons or electrons, no matter how far apart they may be, are in constant communication, needing no human hand or mind to direct them as they take each other into consideration and move accordingly. Go back to Plato and he told us the same thing, but in relation to the movement of the stars and planets and the overall harmony that is constantly being created in the universe ,even though each particle of it is forever moving, changing, renewing itself.

It’s only been for a relatively short time that we’ve been told life is linear, that things happen separately to one another. And that time is over.

Now science is walking hand in hand with the mystics of old, telling us that everything is in a constant state of vibration and that whilst this appears to us to be happening chaotically, there is in fact an over-riding wholeness to their actions, a huge, impenetrable, interpenetrating order to it all. Einstein called it “A spirit far superior to man.” Today’s scientists call it “dark matter” (because we can’t see it). I call it the “Divine Design.”

What we call it doesn’t really matter: what matters is that from the earliest wisdom-teachings to the most cutting edge modern science the conclusions are the same: the world is made up of countless individual particles, each of which is vibrating within what appears to be something akin to a spirit of cooperation. In other words, the Divine Design has at its core an innate sense of relationship that thrives off empathy, give and take, love.

What does this mean for you and me? It means that we’re in constant touch with our environment – all of it, from the space we occupy inside our own bodies to the furthest-flung nebulae – and that that touch is one we feel immediately.  It means that when we “go with the flow” we are moved to act in ways that fit in with that environment, creating sustainable wealth that’s based not on an “I’m alright Jack!” attitude, but on a sense of our commonality with every element of it.  We are all participants in and guardians of the Weft of Wealth.

How do we know this? For me, I know it because I find within me the feeling of connectedness each and every day. I make time for it, specifically, with a practice that I follow each morning. For many of us, it happens in moments when we are brought up against what we’d call the miraculous or sacred; moments when the humdrum daily routine is suddenly interrupted by something that strikes a chord deep within.

I recall visiting Salisbury Cathedral, for instance, and standing in the middle of the aisle, surrounded by the tall arches that rose up and met above my head. In an instant I was uplifted, transported to a feeling of exquisite pleasure. My cells were suddenly dancing and singing in a way I had not felt since I was a small boy tramping round the countryside. The sensation grew and grew until it became so strong that I felt I might simply be “whisked away”, that I might evaporate into insubstantial air!

That’s the sort of feeling I am talking about when I talk about truly reaching connection with our world. It’s a sense of heightened pleasure, deep belonging, a place where the mind is switched off and the body is acutely aware of its relationship with the energies off all other bodies: whether of stone, plant, animal, solid, liquid or gas.

When we are in that place, there is no doubt about our own divinity. Our position within the Weft of Wealth surrounds and informs us. There’s no doubt, no anxiety, no regret, no fear. And that’s how to set the standard for yourself when you’re deciding what to do and what not to do (in business or in your personal life): find the place within in you where there is no doubt.

When you do this, you encourage synchronicities to happen. Why? Because you train yourself to start to listen, touch, taste the dance that is going on inside you. And you realize that it’s the very same dance that’s going on outside – the rhythm of constantly changing notes within the most intricately-structured symphony of all.

Aware of this, you start handing over your life on a regular basis to the movements of things far greater (and yet no more profound) than those that your logic can comprehend. You begin to smell and see the mysterious for what it is; simply the intersection between the miraculous and the everyday. And that means miracles start flowing your way.

I’ve found that the easiest way to get to that place is to be still, to clear the mind of clutter, to breathe deeply and let the Divine Self take over.

I’ve also found some simple phrases can help:

“I see God in every face,
I give thanks for my own grace.”

“Today is a day of miracles,
I see wonder in all that’s before me!”

Armed with this as a starting point for each day, what happens for me is an instant sense of gratitude that I am here at all. I give thanks for the miracle of being breathed. I know wonderful things are not just on the way: they are already here!

And suddenly synchronicities start happening all over the place. The more they happen, the greater my faith in the process. The greater my faith, the more they happen! And suddenly, each day, I understand that every outcome is the perfect one.

Love and best wishes,
Richard
